WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Rating Each Entrant’s Chances Of Winning

3. John Cena

While no longer the all-conquering franchise player of old, it'd be foolish to rule 'The Face That Runs The Place' out of Royal Rumble contention. He was a non-entity at Survivor Series, and worked the midcard for much of 2017, but he's still John Cena, and still has the chance to write his name into the history books with a 'record-breaking' 17th World Title reign.

Much depends on what WWE have planned for Cena at WrestleMania. Dave Meltzer has hinted at major plans, and a match with The Undertaker has been mooted, but it was Elias, not 'The Deadman,' whom 'Big Match John' clashed with at Raw 25. A WWE Championship fight with AJ Styles is another one, but seems improbable.

A big title shot doesn't look likely, but after so many years as WWE's undisputed kingpin, Cena is a perennial contender. Rule him out at your peril.

Chances: Strong.
