WWE Royal Rumble 2019: 8 Things WWE Got Right

7. Headlining With The Men's Rumble

Last year, the Rumble had to end with that first ever 30-woman match. This year, it was a shrewd move to turn 2018's format on its head and revert to tradition. The men's Rumble went on last here, and that was the correct decision. There's no way Bryan vs. AJ, Bálor vs. Lesnar or Ronda Rousey vs. Sasha Banks would've been a better choice.

If WWE are insistent on booking two Rumbles, then one has to end the show. Simple as.

Though this was hardly the biggest or best Rumble ever, there was enough going on to keep it entertaining throughout. Also, seeing SmackDown's Samoa Joe lock horns with Raw's Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins did more for the idea of brand separation than Survivor Series ever could.

There shouldn't be any complaints about the way WWE laid this Rumble out. Workhorse favourites from the main roster were given the star treatment, NXT hopefuls fit in nicely and nobody who mattered seemed out of place.
