WWE Royal Rumble 2020: 10 Former Stars Who Should Return Tonight!

2. AJ Lee

CM Punk has made it quite clear that he isn't ready to lace up his boots again just yet (if at all), but that doesn't mean the door is necessarily closed on AJ Lee ever returning to the ring.

Much like her husband, AJ has also gone on the record in saying she isn't eyeing an in-ring return, but she has never seemed to be as vehemently against the idea as Punk. After all, she grew up a massive wrestling fan and the business will always be in her blood no matter what she does.

From writing a best-selling autobiography to speaking out against mental illness, the former Divas champion has carved out an entirely new career for herself outside of wrestling. There really isn't any reason for her to return aside from giving fans what they want to see one last time.

AJ got to mix it up with Paige before leaving WWE in 2015 but missed out on the "Women's Evolution" and everything that followed. With three Divas Championship reigns and many memorable matches and segments to her credit, she will go down as the one of the most prominent and popular women's wrestlers of all-time to never compete in a women's Royal Rumble if she remains retired.

A CM Punk comeback may be out of the realm of possibility (for now), but a Rumble return for AJ Lee could be even better.
