WWE Royal Rumble 2020: 9 Last-Minute Rumours You Need To Know

3. Ronda's Winning

Despite it looking like a lock that Shayna Baszler would not only appear in the Women's Royal Rumble but go on to win it, the talk has changed over the past few weeks to suggest that she's not, in fact, lined up for it. It would represent a significant change in their plans - that Survivor Series walkover wasn't for nothing - but there might be a very good reason for it.

Ronda Rousey has not been seen since losing her Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania, but is contracted to the company through 2021 and Triple H has recently been on record to say "she will be back". This, combined with the apparent U-turn on Shayna and the severe recent movement in the betting odds, has led to plenty of speculation that she'll be back this weekend.

Whether or not this leads to a WrestleMania program or is merely a one-off crowd popper remains to be seen, but her inclusion would add much-needed star-power to a match that is now comfortably past the novelty stage. A stare-down with Lynch after her match, a reunion with Baszler in the Rumble itself, or even winning the thing to lay down a title challenge; it's comfortably WWE's most headlining grabbing option.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
