Imagine waiting your entire career for one match, then getting carelessly thrown to the back of the queue once it's done. That could be Bobby Lashley's fate after the Rumble. WWE may view this showdown with Brock Lesnar as the peak of his 'Mania season, and that's a depressing thought for Bob.

He's still WWE Championship material, and would probably be Big E's main threat had Brock not gatecrashed the Raw title scene last-minute back at Day 1. Now, rather than lining up for a promising Royal Rumble tilt and then going on to more fun at 'Mania, Lashley could possibly find himself being a mere appetiser for Lesnar.

Bobby deserves better than that.

Sadly, he already feels like a bit of an afterthought heading into the weekend. Brock is clowning around wearing cowboy hats and talking nonsense, and WWE hasn't exactly scripted Lashley to force the 'Beast' into acting serious. It's all quite worrying.
