Each Royal Rumble season, the writing is on the wall for a few top NXT wrestlers that their time in the former black and gold brand was over. Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Rusev, and Sami Zayn are just a few examples of wrestlers who received main roster call-ups via the Royal Rumble match or soon after.

This year, there is no more likely candidate than two-time NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. After losing his championship to Bron Breakker, fans have seen the Blackheart dye his trademark grey beard brown, and wrestle on WWE Main Event, where he's defeated the likes of T-Bar and Akira Tozowa.

All of these are signals that Ciampa will be making his main roster re-debut in the Royal Rumble match. As long as WWE allows the Psycho Killer to be the superstar we have all loved, hated, then loved again, 29 January could be the beginning of a long and successful run on the main roster for Tomasso Ciampa.
