WWE Royal Rumble Debut Wrestlers: Where Are They Now?
12. B. Brian Blair
The other half of The Killer Bees, B. Brian Blair entered the Royal Rumble at number 15 and was thrown out by the One Man Gang five minutes later. Never anything more than a popular midcarder, Blair was reportedly promised a WWE Tag Team Championship run by Vince McMahon on three separate occasions, but they never materialised, which eventually led to Blair's resignation in fall 1988.
Blair's life has taken a number of twists and turns since then. His wrestling career has all but faded away, but he saved Brutus Beefcake's life following a para-sailing accident in 1990. 1999 saw him score a cool $2.1 million by selling-off four Gold's Gym fitness centres that he'd owned and operated in the Tampa Bay area, and he entered politics three years later.
Blair ran for a county commission seat in 2002, but lost by a narrow margin. This didn't dissuade him, however, and he eventually won a narrow election in 2004, then served as Hillsborough County Commissioner until 2008.
2009 saw Blair spend Father's Day in jail after allegedly striking his sons, but the charges were never followed-up on. Today, Blair earns a living promoting and marketing Celebritea, a Tampa Bay-based iced tea brand, and has helped get the product on the shelves at a number of major national retailers.
