WWE: Scott Hall's 10 Greatest Career Moments

7. Intercontinental Champion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOIuenaPfMI Shortly after SummerSlam in August of 1993, then-Intercontinental champion Shawn Michaels was suspended for testing positive for steroids, which he still denies to this day. The suspension immediately created questions surrounding the status of the Intercontinental title. All questions were answered when it was announced that a battle royal would be held on the October 4 episode of Monday Night Raw and that the final two competitors in that match would compete against one another the following week for the vacant title. Razor Ramon and Rick Martel would outlast 18 other Superstars, including Randy Savage, Mr. Perfect and Diesel, to earn the right to fight for the gold. Ramon was picking up a great deal of momentum at this point while Martel was still an exceptional ring worker but was largely irrelevant. Despite what seemed like a mismatch, the talented in-ring veterans delivered a fine wrestling match that saw Ramon score his first championship in World Wrestling Entertainment following the Razor's Edge. Throughout the course of his WWE career, Ramon would be recognized as one of the greatest Intercontinental champions of all-time. While that may be debatable, what is not is that whenever he held the title, he more than elevated it in terms of importance and prestige.
