None other than Johnny Knoxville has been pencilled in to challenge Sami Zayn for WWE's Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 38.

The Jackass star returned to WWE TV on Friday's SmackDown and laid out his intentions for the belt. Knoxville then got slapped around the ring by Zayn before Adam Pearce set up Sami vs. Ricochet in a hastily-arranged title bout for next week.

Keep an eye out for JK in that match - he could accompany Ricochet to ringside and/or get some revenge on Zayn for kicking his head in this past Friday. Then, it's believed that Knoxville will be confirmed for a title shot himself come 'Mania.

Some folks aren't gonna like that one.

There was a time when the IC strap was considered one of pro wrestling's most prestigious and credible pieces of hardware. Those days are clearly gone, so much so that WWE don't see a problem with having celebs challenge for it.
