WWE SmackDown Live!: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (Oct 10)

1. Daydream In Blue

Sami Zayn Kevin Owens
WWE

Decked out in a new 'Fight Everyone' motif for his Hell In A Cell main event against Shane McMahon, Kevin Owens foreshadowed a new era of control over the blue brand in his eventual victory over the SmackDown Live! Commissioner.

Bearing scars of the bruising war, 'KO's coat of paint was at least fresh. The shock of blue across his chest came to represent everything he'd speak of in his enjoyably aggrandising monologue.

Definitively claiming the blue brand as the 'Kevin Owens Show', the 'Prizefighter' then spoke of utopian interventions and the pearly gates all before introducing his own 'guardian angel' Sami Zayn.

Dripping in smugness and self-satisfaction, the 'Underdog From The Underground' cut his searing promo on Shane McMahon (and WWE's wonky hierarchy in general), burning his fanbase with a deft devilish demeanour. Zayn's contrasting red and black scheme carried the symbolic weight of Satan himself, bringing forth a union from hell to merge with Owens' 'heavenly' persuasion.

Of course, the entire audience already knows that deep down, both men belong on sides opposing ones they currently protray, but that dramatic irony only enhances the magic of watching their renewed delusional grasps for glory.
