Sami Zayn has called this recent WWE run "me at my best".

The SmackDown man told FOX Sports that he'll always have fond memories of his time in NXT, but even that can't hope to top what he's doing now. He's particularly proud of his promo work lately, and said he's just having a blast playing the delusional conspiracy theorist on Friday nights.

Sami described his current gimmick as "looking shaggy, frantic and narcissistic". He then went on to suggest that this is only the beginning of the character's story arc; that's great news for anyone who has been enjoying his work. More would be welcome, 'cause he's one of the best heels on the roster right now.

When FOX asked Zayn to rate his recent Intercontinental Title runs, he said he was "thrilled" with how things had panned out. Sami enjoyed working with Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro, and he got a kick out of referring to himself as 'The Great Liberator' on TV.

In typically modest fashion, Zayn did say that he worries he's being "egomaniacal" by praising his own work so much. Still, even he can see that everything is clicking.
