WWE SmackDown Viewership Falls Below 900,000 On FS1
SmackDown's 18-49 rating was lower than AEW Dynamite's last week.
WWE's SmackDown viewership fell to below 900,000 for last week's move to FS1.
The blue band was pre-empted from its usual spot on FOX as a result of a clash with the MLB's World Series, meaning a slide was always likely. It ended up averaging 881,000 viewers across its two hours on the irregular channel.
As far as the key 18-49 demographic goes, SmackDown came through with a rating of just 0.25. This is even lower than last week's episode of AEW Dynamite, which hit 0.30, though it was enough for SmackDown to finish 15th on the night amongst original cable telecasts.
The World Series game ended up dominating the night, hitting 8.156 million viewers and a 2.4 rating amongst viewers aged 18-49. It was also a strong night for news shows as coverage ramps up ahead of next week's United States presidential election.
SD is scheduled to return to its usual FOX slot next week.
If this week's Raw is anything to go by, this Friday's SmackDown could be heavy on announcements. WWE has already filled 80% of the men's and women's 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination spots for Raw and may seek to do the same on SD.
