WWE Stomping Grounds: 10 Things That Must Happen

Will Sunday throw up a BIG surprise no-one will see coming?

In the span of just over one calendar month, WWE will have presented no less than three main roster specials on the Network. Super ShowDown on 7 June will be followed by Stomping Grounds on 23 June. In turn, Sunday's show will pre-empt Extreme Rules on 14 July. Then, mercifully, there's almost a month break before SummerSlam in August.

Whilst this is terrific value for subscribers, it also causes creative burnout and turns most of these events into souped up house shows with a swanky name. What does Stomping Grounds, for example, offer to separate it from the pack? It's another pay-per-view, one that's not going to be the best of 2019 and one that'll probably be forgotten 24 hours later when Raw lands in Everett, Washington.

Does this mean WWE's writers can afford to take it lightly? Does it hell, and it's not like the card doesn't boast some matches worth seeing. There's a Steel Cage effort between two guys who always work hard, a potentially stunning US Title bout and the chance of a Women's Title change elsewhere.
