2. Kofi's No Laughing Matter For Funnyman Dolph

The final act to Dolph Ziggler's comedy routine saw him parachuted into the WWE Championship picture as a hasty replacement for a dissenting, principled Kevin Owens, with no rhyme or reason. It was a non-sequitur surprise, but besides a bit of absurdist humour on behalf of the booking team, the joke wasn't funny.

It literally should not have been Ziggler in this spot, as much as it very much should have been in, say, 2013, immediately after his Survivor Series heroics. It's been over ten years of WWE every now and then trying to convince us The Showoff is something, suddenly, and usually when it's most convenient. The time when they could continue to trade on residual resentment over his push has long gone - nobody cares anymore.

Prediction: Kofi just completed a massive feel-good tour of Ghana. Where's the 'feel-good' factor in Dolph Ziggler?

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
