As the old Monday Night Raw theme used to go, "Tonight is the night". On this week's episode, new United States Champion Ricochet will face AJ Styles in a non-title match. That was set up in a backstage photoshoot promo by both guys, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

It's already looking tasty, but it does mark a demotion of sorts for AJ.

He was previously Seth Rollins' chief rival at Money In The Bank. That was a one-off however, because now Styles is set for a US Title tilt. Even though, again, this is a slight downgrade from what he was doing before, think of the matches AJ will be able to have with Ricochet. The smart money is on a screwy finish (led by a Gallows and Anderson run in) before the pair meet again at Extreme Rules.

Count us in. AJ excels when he's in there with quick, agile workers like Ricochet is, and this is a great chance for the latter to establish himself on the main roster as more than an exhibition dazzler. All going well, these guys will hit a home run. Twice.
