It's a sign of how highly WWE rate both Kevin Owens and Cesaro that they went on right before the main event. Traditionally on big Pay-Per-Views, the company have had a habit of feeding performers to the proverbial wolves. For example, there was a time when Divas were thrown out in between big matches to distract before the featured bout. That wasn't the case at SummerSlam. On the contrary, Cesaro and Owens delivered in a big way. Handed around 15 minutes, the former Ring Of Honor alumni pieced together a tight, well-received match. It should come as no surprise that both have superior chemistry with one another, they've worked extensively in the past. Even so, both deserve a lot of plaudits for the way they worked hard to entertain the crowd. The typically brash New York crowd were only too happy to give Cesaro and Owens praise for their efforts, which made the contest feel worthwhile. It would have been easy for this match to feel like throwaway, but it delivered.
