WWE SummerSlam 2002: 5 Awesome Things And 5 Things That Sucked

4. Divas Division Was Mostly Ignored

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CPU1vyEz3U By this point WWE was doing a good job of making the divas matter more. They were more than just eye candy. A lot of them developed into really solid wrestlers and they should have done something to set up a big match at SummerSlam. It's one of the three biggest shows of the year. To mostly ignore the women was pretty silly. The only segment involving the women was when Trish Stratus walked to the ring to further the storyline of Howard Finkel's feud with Lillian Garcia. A ring announcer feud is pretty lame. Trish made it look like she was going to be nice to Howard, but it was all a set up for Garcia to slap him and kick him in the groin. It was only a five minute segment to fill the gap between the Michaels/HHH match and the main event, but it would have been better if they could fit some kind of divas match into the show.
