WWE Summerslam 2013: 10 Best Moments From The Biggest Party Of The Summer

6. Miz Is The Host With The Most(ish)

Many denounced the idea of the Miz as the host of Summerslam as unnecessary and unreasonable. The man who was WWE Champion less than three years ago seemingly had taken a full circle in his career, returning to the host of Smackdown role he had when he was first offered a contract. The former reality TV star would have definitely preferred to be wrestling on the show, but he tried to make the most of this role. Though I am in agreement that a host of a PPV is not necessary, and Miz may have been better suited to the panel of experts judging the matches with Booker T, Vickie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels. But he was a part of the show where a huge number of superstars were not, and he was not going to let the spotlight he was given go to waste. The Miz would open the show and present the line-up to the audience, a whilst maintaining somewhat of a swagger and control. He was interrupted by Fandango and Summer Rae who decided to take some of the limelight for themselves, and the Miz would quickly put them down and the show would go on. Later he would have a backstage promo with Maria Menounos, who had competed at the weekend alongside Natalya against the Bella Twins and Eva Marie. The two got on quite well until Fandango stuck his oar in again, only for the Miz and Menounos to show them up by performing some dance moves of their own. Later, with the Miz attempting another segment, the dancer finally broke the Miz's patience, as he took a swing at his tanned face, which will probably lead to a match on RAW. Recently, I don't really know what to think of Miz. He has certainly come a long way in his career, and though he certainly isn't a master technician, he is a perfectly serviceable competitor. However, whether he has done something wrong backstage or something, he just isn't working at the moment. Miz TV is an awkward fifteen-minute segment on every show, which it wouldn't be if Miz was heel, and though he is a good hand, charismatic, good on the microphone, has a number of catchphrases and does great PR for the company, he was just so much better as a heel. Though there is the argument that all wrestlers are better as heels because the bad guys are cool and can say and do what they please, the company needs strong faces, it is just whether the Miz can eventually bring everything together.
