WWE SummerSlam 2014: 10 Things We Expect To Happen

7. Dean Ambrose And Seth Rollins Take It To The Extreme

WWE.comWWE.comThe feud between Ambrose and Rollins has been quite excellent to this point. The mic work from Ambrose has been stellar while Rollins has carried his own on that end. The brawls echo back to a time where unpredictability reigned supreme and the added element of the Money in the Bank briefcase has only enhanced the story. While they are likely to compete at Battleground in a more traditional wrestling match, it is at SummerSlam that their feud should culminate in a gimmick bout of sorts. An Extreme Rules match would allow them to play upon the incredibly intense brawls that have dominated their feud to this point. The competitors could fight to through the crowd, into the backstage area, up the aisle and back to ringside as they cap off their program. A Last Man Standing match, though overdone on WWE programming, is a favorite of the creative team and should not be counted out. Regardless of which match WWE Creative settles on, there is no better stage for Ambrose and Rollins to settle their differences on than SummerSlam. Though somewhat devalued by the close proximity of Money in the Bank, the event remains one of the marquee events in WWE, the showcase for stars to deliver monumental performance and a host for nearly as many Match of the Year candidates over the years as WrestleMania. The former Shield members can cement their place near the top of the professional wrestling with a great performance this August. Whether they do or not is the real question.
