WWE SummerSlam 2014: 5 Winners And 5 Losers

2. Brock Lesnar

If you were to pour back through the professional wrestling history books, you€™d be hard pressed to find another performer who had a more impressive back-to-back match span than Brock Lesnar has this year. The Beast Incarnate did the unthinkable and defeated The Undertaker to break the streak at WrestleMania XXX and then returned to do the unthinkable yet again and made John Cena his b*tch at SummerSlam. Despite the fact that booking him to lose in his first match after The Undertaker would have been a waste of the streak, fans still sat with baited breath half expecting to Cena to RISE ABOVE STREAK-BREAKING UFC FIGHTERS and retain the championship. But WWE, and especially Cena did the right thing in making Brock look like the monster he is. Lesnar has been brilliant at crafting his matches, giving us something different in each one. For all the credit he gets for being a bloodthirsty feaster of human flesh who wears a skull necklace and kicks babies for fun, he€™s not touted nearly enough for being a talented ring technician. His first match with Cena at Extreme Rules 2012 was practically and MMA fight with the kind of brutality WWE is shy about giving us, the Punk encounter at last year€™s SummerSlam was a classic big man vs. little man affair and this year€™s Cena bout was a textbook lesson in punishment. If WWE can keep him strong before felling him at the ends of their own conqueror, be it Roman Reigns or possibly a returning Daniel Bryan, this has the potential to be one of the most exciting reigns of terror in a very long time. Also that Undertaker sit-up/troll job was pretty much the greatest thing in the history of all things.
