WWE SummerSlam 2014: 8 Matches That Must Take Place

6. Intercontinental Championship - Bad News Barrett Vs. Sami Zayn

Barrett Zayn It's very important that WWE brings in new talent from NXT. Nobody is more ready than Sami Zayn. When Triple H did a Twitter Q&A recently and he was asked what NXT talent he would want to feud with, he said Zayn. Hunter knows that Zayn is one of the most talented wrestlers in the company whether it's on the main roster or in developmental. He's a guy with a decade of experience that has great matches with everybody. Barrett is the kind of IC Champion that brings credibility to the title. If he holds the title all the way to SummerSlam then he would have a reign of nearly four months and as long as he wrestles on a regular basis on TV he'll look like a fighting champion. They can debut Zayn in the role as the most talented performer in NXT that JBL can put over strong on commentary because JBL is the on camera GM of NXT. They could have him beat Barrett in a non-title match upon his WWE debut (WWE loves doing that) and set up this IC Title match. A title change would work here. If Barrett dropped the title to Zayn it would make Zayn look like a bigger star and Barrett could move up the ladder so to speak as they continue to try to build him as a legitimate main eventer once again. It's win-win for both guys.
