WWE SummerSlam 2016: 10 Awesome Moments
5. AJ Styles Defeats John Cena Again
When AJ Styles was given a singles win over John Cena at Money In The Bank, it came with a caveat. Both Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson interfered on AJ's behalf, giving Cena a built-in excuse on television afterwards. Styles had beaten him, but hadn't done so cleanly. Little did anyone know then that another victory was incoming at SummerSlam.
The feud between both men appeared destined to end in a Cena win on the Summer pay-per-view. The opposite result, another AJ Styles win, just didn't seem on the cards. Once again, WWE decided to spring a surprise, AJ was the one written to come out on top.
This time, he did so without any help. Fans lost their minds throughout the match, definitely one that would have warranted the main event slot on the show. Numerous near falls worked well, and people couldn't fathom the fact that AJ pinned Cena smack bang in the middle of the ring even after failing to capitalise on a second Styles Clash of the match.
Exposing his elbow, AJ then hammered Cena with a springboard strike, picking up a hugely memorable win.
