There's little doubt that Michael Cole will continue to be the voice of Monday Night Raw for quite some years to come. Cole outright replaced Jim Ross over time, and even though he's a different kind of announcer he's still good at what he does. Over on SmackDown Live, Mauro Ranallo has emerged as a force behind the commentary desk in his own right.

Even with the brand split, there was a worry over the announcing situation for pay-per-views featuring both Raw and SmackDown. SummerSlam put fretting minds to rest, matches featuring stars from each respective show were called by the designated brand's commentary teams.

This means that Ranallo got to call bouts like John Cena vs. AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton, doing a wonderful job. Along with Corey Graves and Byron Saxton, Mauro seemed excited to be handed such an opportunity. His style is energetic beyond belief, sometimes harking back to the kind of passion that Jim Ross became infamous for, and he really sells the athleticism of the action.

Hearing different voices across the supercard aided it immensely, announcers didn't get the chance to grow complacent.
