9. Kevin Owen's Mid-Match Banter
For all Kevin Owens’ strengths (and there are many), one of the most significant is his dedication to the little things. Owens, more than any other worker, sprinkles subtleties all over his work whether he’s wrestling or cutting a promo. He’s the type of wrestler that rewards your full attention with countless easter eggs and funny moments, and it’s a big reason why the WWE Universe have taken such a shine to Owens despite his obnoxious persona.
JeriKO’s SummerSlam tag team match with Enzo Amore & Big Cass was littered with such moments. As usual, Owens’ mid-match trash talk was completely on-point, but it can be very hard to pick-up on these lines over the background noise. At one point, Jericho was putting the boots to Enzo in the heels’ corner, prompting an oddly polite “how are you doing?” from Owens in perfect English.
Moments later Owens was laying into Amore himself, and pauses momentarily to pose the question: “how do you like that, Lightsabre whatever?!”
KO, of course, does this in just about every match, but it's always entertaining. Owens took two of Enzo’s most famous lines and completely flipped them around, and it’d be remiss not to mention his attempt at recreating Enzo’s signature dance on the apron too.
