Can you imagine how flat the finish to SummerSlam would have been had WWE decided to run the Universal Title Fatal-4-Way earlier in the show? There was no match more fitting than this one to headline, so it's a good thing creative went with Brock Lesnar's chaotic title defence against Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe.

Bell-to-bell action, this match had everything the rest of SummerSlam's card lacked. Lesnar, Strowman, Reigns, and Joe pulled out all the stops to ensure their match was the only one being talked about post-show.

On a card packed with negatives (especially during the first half), the Fatal-4-Way was an overwhelming positive for WWE to close things out. Doing this kind of match every month would lessen the appeal, but it felt like a main event worthy of SummerSlam. That's all that matters.
