WWE SummerSlam 2017: Best Booking Scenarios For Each Match
7. Shesaro Moves Through An Imploding Shield
If Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins win the Raw Tag Team Championships from Sheamus and Cesaro on Sunday, then tag team wrestling is dead.
Was that a hyperbolic statement? Probably. But it would be quite insulting to the litany of tag team wrestlers. A cohesive tag team should always overcome two individual wrestlers that can't seem to be around each other for longer than 30 seconds without coming to blows.
Sheamus and Cesaro have been phenomenal so far as a tag team, ironically also starting out in a very similar situation to the one that Ambrose and Rollins find themselves in. With the sheer skill of Rollins and Cesaro especially, this is an easy contender for match of the night.
The former Shield brethren absolutely should not capture the gold. At least not in the position that they're in at the moment.
The best argument for Rollins and Ambrose to win is that it would give the pair something to do. A situation like that has never failed to damage the championship in question.
If the two get their act together, then they could easily be legitimate contenders at a later date. As it stands right now, however, they shouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell.
