WWE SummerSlam 2018: 10 Things That Must Happen
8. Most Of The Throwaway Is Kept Short
Oddly, the aforementioned seven matches on SummerSlam's card that aren't exactly essential to its success could still be detrimental to the show's entertainment value if they run too closely together or eat up too much time.
Finn Bálor vs. Constable Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jeff Hardy, Braun Strowman vs. Kevin Owens, The B-Team vs. The Revival, The Bludgeon Bros. vs. The New Day, Rusev and Lana vs. Andrade Almas and Zelina Vega and even the Cruiserweight Title match between Cedric Alexander and Drew Gulak all feel throwaway.
Three of those (the Cruiserweight Title, Raw Tag Title and mixed tag) will happen on the pre-show Kickoff, and that means they're entirely skippable. This could be a life-saver for anyone hoping to enjoy the main pay-per-view, because sitting through an extra two hours of endless video packages and a few extra matches could be hard work.
By keeping the seven above matches relatively short, WWE would be doing themselves (and the fans) a favour. It's not like any of them are likely to spring any earth-shattering results.
