WWE SummerSlam 2018: 10 Things WWE Got Right
2. Samoa Joe Pushing AJ’s Buttons
There will be those sh*tting all over the decision to end a much-anticipated first-ever WWE clash between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe by disqualification. Whilst that argument has some merit (it could have been, if left alone, a classic without the bells and whistles), think of it this way: there's another rematch coming, and it has quite the story to back it up.
Joe was at his dirtbag best by taunting AJ's family from the ring and the announce table.
His arrogance, cheek and downright disgraceful behaviour led Styles to snap and forced the babyface WWE Champion to apologise to his young daughter for being so violent afterwards. What a subtly masterful performance from both champ and challenger this was.
The big Samoan's apparent need to push AJ's buttons and tip him over the edge will come in handy on WWE's next pay-per-view, which just so happens to be Hell In A Cell. That show will need marquee matches to sell it, and this is one of them.
