WWE SummerSlam 2021: 10 Things That Must Happen
8. Damian Priest Grabs Some Relevancy
Sheamus has barely defended the United States Title since bagging it at WrestleMania. Rather coincidentally, poor Damian Priest has witnessed his stock plummet since the 'Show Of Shows' too. This match surely only exists to give Priest some much-needed relevancy and a strong win over an upper-midcard heel.
Surely!
Bully boy Sheamus doesn't need that strap right now anyway. WWE conditioning has taught this fella' that secondary belts are better on babyfaces when a heel is kicking arse in the World Title picture; Bobby Lashley is doing exactly that, so it's time to move that US prize onto someone who elicits cheers from crowds.
Priest used the Brogue Kick to beat The Miz on Monday, so maybe he could repeat that on Sheamus and snare his first title reign since jumping from NXT to Raw. Why not? It's obvious that creative doesn't have a long-term plan for Sheamus as champion anyway. He couldn't feud with Humberto Carrillo and Ricochet forever.
