WWE SummerSlam 2021 To Avoid Head-To-Head Clash With Manny Pacquiao Fight?

Here's how WWE plans on avoiding SummerSlam 2021's clash with Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas.

As WWE officially announced over the weekend, SummerSlam 2021 will go down in the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday 21 August.

This appeared to set the show up for a potential clash with the Manny Pacquiao vs. Errol Spence Jr. boxing fight, which goes down in the same city on the same night. Fortunately, it sounds like WWE has concocted a plan to avoid that.

Per PWInsider's Mike Johnson, WWE intends on ending SummerSlam 2021 early enough for fans to be able to head to the Pacquiao fight if they want to, thus preventing potential attendees (and pay-per-view viewers) from having to choose between the two.

Pacquaio vs. Spence Jr. will take place in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, which is around two miles away from Allegiant Stadium. The main event is expected to start at midnight EST, while SummerSlam 2021 commences at 8 pm EST, meaning this year's Biggest Party of the Summer could be a sub-four-hour affair.

SummerSlam 2021 will be the first time the pay-per-view has event taken place inside an NFL stadium. Allegiant Stadium, which opened in July 2020, holds up to 72,000 fans when calibrated for football.
