WWE SummerSlam 2025: 10 Things That Must Happen
3. Roman Reigns Accidentally Spears Jey Uso
Paul Heyman set the scene for this with his promo about trusting family on Monday's Raw. That was aimed squarely at Jey Uso, but it involves Roman Reigns because Heyman was second-guessing whether or not Jey could even trust the OTC. It was a subtle masterclass in mind games from one of the best to ever do it, and it gives this contingency plan tag-team match some extra oomph.
Originally, Reigns was probably going to work opposite Seth Rollins, but Seth's injury means Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Uso benefit. Spears aplenty were dished out on the flagship as Bron and Bronson wrecked shop, but another spear will get everybody talking on Saturday night. No, it won't be Roman smashing into the midsections of either heel.
He'll be putting a hole in Jey's stomach instead.
Accidentally, of course. That way, Heyman can point to his prior words in a cool, 'I told you so' moment. Giving even the most sneaky villains some credibility (even by happenstance) is always a solid plan. If Uso eats a spear to the ribs from Roman, then he might start to doubt his cousin all over again. After all, he has good reason to seeing as Reigns once acted like a world class git to him in The Bloodline.
This must-have spot should result in either Breakker or Reed tossing Roman out of the ring and then immediately pinning Jey. In short, the insinuation from the heels would be that Reigns beat Uso himself. The plot will thicken, just like the lump on Roman's head if Jey eventually gets some "accidental" revenge himself.
