WWE SummerSlam 2025: 12 Nightmares That Could Come True
3. Seth Rollins Cashes In Whilst Injured
It's important to say right away that this is highly unlikely, but what if WWE has an injured Seth Rollins cash in Money In The Bank after CM Punk wins the World Title from Gunther? That notion is far-fetched in the extreme, but the company may not be able to resist such a moment. The problem is, they’d be shooting themselves in the foot if Seth is actually injured or going to be out for a while.
You can’t have Raw’s top title on a dude who isn’t going to be around for the rest of the year. It'd be perfectly fine to have Rollins appear to distract Punk and cost him the win, but let’s not have him cash in MITB. The briefcase concept is something that requires either a breather or a bit of patience due to Naomi's cash in on the women's side. In theory, geniuses like Paul Heyman and Seth wouldn't pull the trigger whilst he's hurt.
If he's hurt. No, no he surely is, but it's easy to buy into all the conspiracy theories doing the rounds about this being part of some elaborate, sneaky work. Wrestling has set a precedent for suspiciously timed things like that before, but it does seem like Rollins got injured at Saturday Night's Main Event. If so, then putting the World Title on him wouldn't be the right call.
This wouldn't even fly from a kayfabe perspective anyway. Say Seth cashed in, won the belt, then said he couldn't defend it due to injuries. Raw GM Adam Pearce would have to step in and strip him, whilst pointing out that Rollins did technically wrestling at SummerSlam.
It'd be messy. Fascinating, but messy.
