11. TLC Is Blighted By Supernatural Guff

The Wyatt Sicks returned to screens in May, caused trouble for a hot SmackDown doubles division, then eventually won the tag straps from The Street Profits on the 11 July episode. They certainly aren’t this fan’s choice to lead the chasing pack, but Triple H clearly sees something in Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy as champs. Still, ideally they drop the belts on Sunday to Andrade and Rey Fenix or Fraxiom.

Also, no supernatural shenanigans please!

WWE have to just let all 6 squads go hell for leather in New Jersey. If this thrilling TLC occasion is laced with supernatural stuff from Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Erick Rowan and other Sicks members, then it’ll hurt the match. Nobody wants to see that. They want to see the likes of DIY, Motor City Machine Guns, Andrade, Fenix, Nathan Frazer, Axiom and Montez Ford do their thing aerially by hitting sick spots and taking big bumps for 25-30 minutes.

Focusing the fray around Howdy, or dimming the lights Bray Wyatt 'Fiend' style, would be a mistake. That's something Triple H hopefully learned from latter day Vince McMahon. Switching the lights off or coating everything in red might've looked interesting on camera to fans at home here or there, but it didn't exactly do much for Bray's matches.

It'd be a real pity if that sort of presentation snuffed out what's sure to be a TLC rollercoaster. Supernatural stuff can work when used at the right time, but a PLE match like this (one that got a booming reaction when Nick Aldis announced it on TV) is not the "right time".
