WWE SummerSlam 2025: 12 Nightmares That Could Come True
7. Hype Hurts The Women’s Triple Threat
Naomi, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY have a lot of pressure on their shoulders going into SummerSlam. People are expecting great things from them, and they want a Triple Threat that at least matches what Rhea and IYO did with Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 41. Say your prayers (and take your vitamins) for them before the weekend, peeps.
It’d be awful if they felt the heat and couldn’t live up to the hype. No-one wants to see excellent workers sink at crucial moments, but a bad match is always just around the corner. Naomi, Rhea and IYO certainly wouldn't be the first trio of top names to suck wind and struggle to satisfy. The list of bad WWE matches is almost as long as the greatest in company history.
Fan expectation can weigh things down before a punch or kick is even thrown though. That aforementioned 'Mania 3-way wasn't a scorcher many saw coming - those tuning into April's show knew it'd be a good time, but they didn't think they were in store for one of the best bouts of the entire year until it really got going.
If the wrestling deities are listening, then hear this: Make sure that Naomi vs. Ripley vs. SKY equals Ripley vs. SKY vs. Belair at least. This feels like a pivotal moment in Naomi's young Women's World Title reign, so she needs to knock it out of the park and come away feeling like she could walk on water.
These women deserve the spotlight, and they deserve to feel good about their work. No disasters or off nights wanted.
