WWE SummerSlam: 8 Reasons Why Brock Lesnar Must Conquer The Undertaker

6. A Rubber Match Wouldn't Have The Same Level Of Excitement

If The Undertaker wins at SummerSlam, there's no way the WWE will be able to resist the temptation to have a rubber match between him and Lesnar in order to decide who between them really is the best. This is after all the company that billed The Rock vs. John Cena as being "Once In A Lifetime" and followed it up with a rematch a year later! The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar's rubber match could take place during one of this Autumn's PPV's when it comes time to try and boost WWE Network subscription numbers or at next year's WrestleMania, but a third bout between them would be a big mistake regardless of the venue. The WWE has done a good job of making everyone forget that these two clashed many times during Lesnar's original WWE run, and while this upcoming rematch definitely feels like a big deal, it's hard to imagine there being a huge deal of excitement around a third. The rubber match aspect would certainly add something to it, but other than that, what exactly would the stakes be? Brock has already conquered The Streak (something which can never be undone), and if The Undertaker emerges victorious at SummerSlam, he'll have had his revenge. There's simply nothing to be gained by these two going at it for a third time. The Undertaker winning is near enough a guarantee that it will happen though, and that's why it would be in everyone's best interest for Lesnar to remain the victor in this particular feud.
