5. It Would Have No Lasting Impact
As I mentioned in a previous slide, there's really nothing to be gained from The Undertaker winning at SummerSlam next Sunday. Him managing to take down Lesnar would no doubt make a lot of fans happy (that low blow appeared to be an indication that the Deadman would return as a heel, but WWE Creative may have underestimated just how much fans love him), but what does that accomplish in the long run? After SummerSlam, The Undertaker will no doubt once again disappear until next year's WrestleMania season, and even if Brock takes a few months off, you can bet he'll be back before the Phenom. He'll no doubt be engaged in an entirely different feud by that point and Paul Heyman will have absolutely no reason to try and talk his client's way out of this loss if enough time has passed. It's also hard to imagine whoever Brock's future opponents might be throwing the Beast's defeat at SummerSlam in his face either as chances are that they won't have ever beaten The Undertaker anyway! The Undertaker meanwhile rarely utilises promo time in his current Deadman persona, so him kicking off Raw with a fifteen minute soliloquy about beating Brock also seems unlikely. A victory for Lesnar on the other hand would be huge. It would serve to not only make him even more indestructible, but gives Heyman a new talking point for years to come; his client becomes not only the man who conquered The Streak, but also the guy who put The Undertaker down when he returned for revenge! If The Undertaker wins, chances are it will be as quickly forgotten as his match with Bray Wyatt earlier this year.
