WWE SummerSlam Live Review - 10 Interesting Observations You Need To Know

7. Everybody Loves Stephen Amell

As someone who writes primarily about comic book movies and WWE for a living, I've noticed something interesting. Comic book fans who don't watch wrestling seem to rejoice in tearing it apart, a surprising turn of events seeing as how niche and widely ridiculed comics have been up until only recently when their big screen adaptations have played a role in making them mainstream. Maybe they're just insecure? It's hard to know how else to explain it, especially when the two mediums really aren't that different, and there are so many WWE Superstars who love comics (Stardust has clearly been inspired by X-Men villain Mr. Sinister on more than one occasion, while Sami Zayn has talked openly about being an Archie fan). That said, it was awesome to hear Stephen Amell receive such a great pop upon his arrival. It only increased throughout the match as it became apparent that he had put a lot of time and effort into delivering a great performance in the ring. As the match progressed and he showed off more and more of his in ring ability, he went from getting a decent response, to a huge one, with many sections of the crowd starting up "Let's Go Arrow" chants. If anything, it's a shame it didn't run longer, but I for one would love to see Amell back in a WWE ring after last night because it's hard to escape the feeling he has more to offer.
