WWE Super Show-Down: 8 Things We Learned
6. WWE Still Has No Idea What To Do With Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens teamed with Elias to take on recent rival Bobby Lashley and the returning John Cena. Predictably, the heels came up short in the rather forgettable encounter and, even though he didn't take the fall, it was Owens who suffered the most here. Being on the losing end is only the latest example of how WWE has dropped the ball with him, as it follows what was undoubtedly an awful summer for the talented superstar.
Instead of playing to the former Universal Champion's strengths, the creative team thought it would be fun to have him constantly run away from Braun Strowman like a coward, tease us with a possible redemption and finally, bury him in a complete squash. Well, they must have been the only ones who enjoyed it because the WWE Universe wasn't laughing, and Owens definitely wasn't.
The summer from hell destroyed every bit of credibility that he once possessed and portrayed him as nothing more than an easily disposable obstacle in Strowman's way. Though his recent "quitting" storyline was temporarily intriguing, if this is all it was leading to then it just goes down as yet another missed opportunity - highlighting that WWE still doesn't know what to do with Owens.
