WWE Survivor Series: 10 Weirdest Sole Survivor Situations
9. Randy Orton - Survivor Series 2003/2004/2005
In a streak seldom talked about, Randy Orton was the sole
survivor in his Survivor Series elimination matches three years in a row - one of
the feats that made a living legend out of the ‘Legend Killer’.
In 2003, Orton and Shawn Michaels were the last two participants for Team Bischoff and Team Austin respectively. Orton’s win was assisted by Batista, his Evolution stablemate, who Batista Bombed Michaels and draped an unconscious Orton over the fallen HBK for the three count.
The following year Orton captained his own team against Team Triple H. The two team captains remained to the bitter end. Orton scored the pin without assistance, hitting Triple H with an RKO.
In 2005, Orton fought for brand supremacy as a member of Team Smackdown. Orton battled to the end with Raw’s Shawn Michaels. When an eliminated JBL distracted Michaels, Orton slithered into position and hit an “RKO Outta Nowhere”. Orton’s sole survivor win was overshadowed by the return of The Undertaker when ‘The Deadman’ emerged from a flaming casket.
