Razor Ramon, two-time Hall of Famer and the coolest bad guy in wrestling, is a name attached to team success. He was a core member of the most successful stable of all time, the nWo. The weirdness in Ramon’s victory was the chain of events which left him as the sole survivor.

The Bad Guys (Ramon, the 1-2-3 Kid, Davey Boy Smith, and The Headshrinkers) battled The Teamsters (Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, and Jeff Jarrett). The talent crammed into this opening match is even more impressive in retrospect.

The match can be split into two halves. The first half was dominated by Diesel. In rapid succession he eliminated Fatu, the 1-2-3 Kid, Sionne, and caused Smith to be counted out. The second half doled out luck and misfortune.

With only Ramon left, odds were stacked against him. However, after a Sweet Chin Music found Diesel’s jaw instead of Ramon’s, Michaels and Diesel furiously battled each other to the outside. As the rest of the team tried to stop them brawling up the ramp, every Teamster was counted out, leaving a bemused Ramon as the sole survivor.
