WWE Survivor Series: 10 Weirdest Sole Survivor Situations

2. Bart Gunn - Survivor Series 1996

At this point of his career, Bart Gunn didn’t even have his infamous Brawl For All tournament win, or subsequent WrestleMania XV loss to professional boxer Butterbean, he was simply a former half of the Smoking Gunns. The half that didn’t get the girl (Sunny), took the blame for costing the team their Tag Team Championships and manager, and was eventually beat down by his more popular partner, Billy Gunn.

Survivor Series 1996 coincided with Billy and Bart’s feud. They found themselves on opposite sides of a clash pitting Jesse James, Aldo Montoya, Bob Holly, and Bart against The Sultan, Justin Bradshaw, Salvatore Sincere, and Billy. Bart eliminated Sincere and eventually pinned his storyline brother to win the match.

Though the match was a Free For All bout to persuade viewers to buy the full pay-per-view, it is bizarre that the weaker Gunn not only beat his brother but finished the match as its sole survivor. The match becomes crazy in retrospect. Bart outlasted stars who would become JBL, Rikishi, Road Dogg, and 1999 King of the Ring winner Bad Ass Billy Gunn.
