Going into the 1987 Survivor Series, Honky Tonk Man was the Intercontinental Champion after defeating Ricky Steamboat for the belt that summer.

These days, Honky is extremely active on the convention scene and also partakes in motivational speaking. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.
