WWE Survivor Series 2002: 5 Awesome Things And 5 That Sucked
2. Los Guerreros Win Tag Title Elimination Match
The match for the WWE Tag Team Titles on the Smackdown brand was the result of numerous tag matches between all three teams. Benoit & Angle were the tag champs, then Edge & Rey Mysterio were and in this match, it was time for Los Guerreros to get the gold. All three teams were built up so well that they deserved it, so any choice would have been good. A triple threat tag match isn't easy to do, so it's not like it was some classic traditional tag match. There were times when things were a bit too disjointed and confusing to follow, but they still had a great match that went about 20 minutes. The Angle/Benoit team were the first ones eliminated, which was a bit of a surprise because Angle was the biggest star in the match. It was a smart elimination where Chavo made Benoit think that Angle hit him with the tag title instead of Chavo doing it. That led to Edge hitting a Spear on Benoit to eliminate him. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xlqcgs_survivor-series-2002-triple-threat-elimination-tag-match-world-tag-team-championship-los-guerreros-v_sport There was a really good finish to the match with the Guerreros dealing with Mysterio, who was on fire. It was well booked, though. With the ref dealing with Edge, Chavo hit Mysterio in the back with the tag title. Eddie applied the Lasso from El Paso submission hold and Mysterio was forced to tap out. It was a big moment for Los Guerreros.
