WWE Survivor Series 2018: 10 Things We Learned
4. The Combo Of Talent In The Men's Elimination Made It Work
As aforementioned, Raw vs. SmackDown is a tough sell in 2018. It's not very realistic that men who war against each other weekly would put their differences aside to wear a brand t-shirt and fight the good fight against that no-good ratings rival. Hell, WWE don't even bother wording it like that.
'The one night a year Raw and SmackDown go head-to-head' happens because it does. Simple as that.
It's a calendar-filler, not an essential watch, and that makes everyone's job a bit tougher. Not to worry, because the talent WWE have on their books is sufficient enough to offset any lame attempt to fan the flames of brand warfare. That was evident when guys like Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, The Miz and Jeff Hardy worked their arses off to maintain their own stories.
There was enough talent and enough going on at all times to turn what could've been a 24-minute slog into an enthralling rollercoaster of big moves, eliminations and guys who never once forgot what they do on their regular programming.
