WWE Survivor Series 2021: 5 Best Moments (And 5 Worst)

9. WORST - Boogs Kills Brooklyn

Vince McMahon Roman Reigns
WWE

During Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura's Kickoff battle, the commentary team made a point of noting how the match and the wrestlers within in would help set the tone for the night.

Based on the Brooklyn crowd's response to Rick Boogs' mid-match riffs (and Priest repeatedly getting distracted by it), they failed at their job.

It was an odd narrative choice, this, especially considering where the characters are at currently. Nakamura is mostly coasting (sound familiar?) on SmackDown, whilst Priest's slightly more aggressive demeanour suggests that WWE are higher than ever than the 'Archer Of Infamy'. Why they made him a bit of a moaning pr*ck (and a thick one at that - he could have just ignored the the guitar) is unknown considering that the intent should always have been to just put him over.

More's the pity for the performers too - both men just about got the crowd onside for a couple of late false finishes before the guitar stuff took over. Priest smashed the axe up, the smashed both Boogs and Nakamura with its remains to draw the disqualification start the show with a non-finish.

All of this is why we are where we are.
