A match built mostly on a very real dissent between the Raw and SmackDown Women's Champions played out with a level of professionalism that betrayed any kind of miscommunication.

Living up to the impressive hype job done in the last week before the show, the pair went to war in a blinding battle that - and imagine this - was worked to look as real as possible as often as possible for as long as possible.

Theatrical in parts but never with the melodrama that crushed so much of NXT's spirits during its final year, the match was split into three clear acts that never once abaonded the central violent premise. A sh*t-hot start saw neither woman hold back, a hot midsection made time for both to work out their frustrations in a control segment, before a race to a finish that served as far more of a cop-out than anything particularly satisfying.

The roll-up reeked of middle-of-the-day politics and card changes. Speaking of which...
