WWE Survivor Series Begins The Road To WrestleMania

1. WWE Title

Triple H If you follow the talk of the online masses, then you may have seen the rumours surrounding a final WWE title reign for Triple H. While his current position as the heel authority figure will dominate proceedings for the meantime at least, is it feasible that the thirteen-time world champion can once again hold the company's most prestigious belt? On one hand, it would make sense. It would cement his place as the overpowering, totalitarian boss if he held all the power, and as champion, his regime would reach unprecedented heights. The isolation of Daniel Bryan over the past few months means that an eventual showdown for the championship with the boss would add an interesting spin to the current storyline. It is only a possibility, and Triple H may deem the idea unnecessary. Fans of Triple H will argue that it would be the perfect end to his in-ring career. If it were to happen, there is no doubt that it would replicate the reign of The Rock earlier this year, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing at all. Triple H's schedule means that he would at least be on television for the entirety of the reign, with his matches being limited to maybe two or three. If you think back to Vince McMahon's original run as Mr. McMahon during the Attitude Era, he won the Royal Rumble (albeit through controversial means) and became WWE Champion for a short time before vacating the belt. On the other hand, the WWE title picture is fine as it is now, which means it may be unlikely that Triple H will become champion again. Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton are dominating the scene right now, and with the eventual return of the likes of John Cena and Sheamus on the horizon, are there too many full-time superstars who are genuine title contenders? Of course, Triple H will have the final say on what happens. In terms of Survivor Series, there are numerous possibilities for the main event, but there are still at least two championship matches to consider before that time. Furthermore, it seems unlikely that we will see Bryan and Orton continue their feud right the way through to November's PPV. In the long term, it may continue, but my guess is that they will shake things up, further isolating Bryan and presumably seeing The Viper on top once again. His ruthless disposal of Cody Rhodes and Goldust, coupled with his brutal attack on The Miz has been exciting to see, and if you ask any Randy Orton fan, they will tell you it is good to see him back to his sadistic best. Prediction: The WrestleMania match for the WWE Championship has to be of the upmost importance to the WWE, as it will be the ultimate selling point. I doubt that Survivor Series will impact it tremendously, but there is a chance that the champion leaving November's PPV may indeed be the man who headlines the Showcase of the Immortals. It seems likely that January's Royal Rumble winner will be the opponent of whoever that may be. I strongly doubt that the WWE will discard Daniel Bryan from the scene just yet; he has built up far too much momentum over the past year for that to happen, and he is my pick for the Royal Rumble winner. Then again, I backed him to win the Money in the Bank match in July, and we all know what happened there. All this considered, I have the utmost confidence that the WWE will deliver at both Survivor Series and then WrestleMania. After all, it is the 30th anniversary!
