6. Ending The Rattlesnake
At the Survivor Series 2003, both General Managers of RAW Eric Bischoff and Stone Cold Steve Austin would be represented by teams of wrestlers, with the winning team winning outright control of RAW for their respective General Manager. The match was a classic Survivor Series team match that came down to two wrestlers; Evolutions Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels. Despite losing a lot of blood and struggling to stand, Michaels would deflect Ortons offense and for a brief second, following a Stone Cold Stunner on Orton, the WWE fans assumed that Michaels would win the match and with it win Austin control of RAW. However Batista would interfere in the match by ambushing Michaels and deliver a Batista Bomb, resulting in Orton getting the pin fall and with it ending Austins career as General Manager of RAW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtyLoJLE9bE Evolution and Austin did not mix. Where Bischoff could be manipulated, Austin was a sheriff that simply made life harder for each Evolution member, and so this Evolution moment is poignant in that it represented the end of Austins regular appearance on WWE television and symbolised again the effectiveness of Evolution itself.
