WWE: Top 10 Evolution Moments

7. Crisis Averted

Shortly after the formation of the stable, both Orton and Batista would become injured, with many suspecting that Evolution would end before it had really begun. Orton€™s return certainly kept the idea of Evolution alive but without Batista, it was clear that the form Evolution would take would be vastly different from the one introduced by Triple H in the winter of 2003. This mini crisis would be averted however when Batista would make his return and with it a memorable Evolution moment in late October 2003. At that time, and much to the anger of Triple H, Goldberg was the World Heavyweight Champion. Evolution had failed in their many attempts to put Goldberg out of the World Title picture for good, resulting in a cunning plan on the part of Triple H to place a $100,000 ransom on the head of Goldberg, challenging anyone in the WWE to take out €˜Goldberg€™ and in doing so win themselves the ransom money. Many wrestlers tried and failed to win the ransom, but the ransom would eventually be won by an unlikely wrestler during a main event World Heavyweight Championship match between Shawn Michaels and Goldberg. That wrestler was none other than Batista. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XI6VwO885Dc Returning from injury, the powerhouse of Evolution would interfere in the main event match and take out Goldberg by crushing his ankle with a steel chair. This particular Evolution moment was memorable not just because Goldberg would be taken out of action, but because for the first time in months, Evolution was finally reunited with all four active members. The crisis for the future of Evolution as it had been introduced had been averted, the crisis for the rest of the RAW roster, had only just begun.
