4. Masters Of Manipulation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu8dN3ATPtI In 2004, the WWE Universe was first introduced to Eric Bischoffs fun and eccentric nephew Eugene. Eugene wanted to be a wrestler; much to the irritation of Bischoff who in an effort to get rid of Eugene booked him in a number of matches against opponents that he thought would beat Eugene and subsequently persuade him to leave the WWE for good. Yet the wannabe wrestler not only managed to hold himself in the ring, but won many of the matches in convincing fashion, leading Bischoff to take drastic action. Such action led him to turn to Evolution. As Evolution pretended to be friends with Eugene, even going as far as to making him an honorary Evolution member, the WWE fans were left screaming at their television sets for Eugene to wake up at the wolves in sheeps clothing! The situation culminated in Eugene costing Triple H a World Heavyweight Championship match. Triple H would then wrestle Eugene in a steel cage and assault Eugene with the aid of Evolution in front of a shocked WWE audience. This moment is a top Evolution moment in that it featured a wrestler in Eugene who was vulnerable and a stable in Evolution who manipulated Eugene to curry favour with Eric Bischoff. The manipulation eventually resulted in Bischoffs primary objective in having his nephew beaten so badly that he would not want to return to the WWE happen. The sheer brutality of this segment, including Triple H assaulting Eugenes mentor William Regal in a hotel room, illustrated once again the ruthlessness and indeed the manipulative side of the Evolution stable.
